I offer very unique and special portraits hand drawn or painted from photographs.
How does it work?
Design Consultation: The first step in the art process is to get to know a bit about your pets and what you are after. This can be done via phone, email or in person. I will also collect photographs of your pet from you to use for the artwork. This is the most important aspect of the portrait. Below you can see the requirements for photographs.
Portrait Process: During this stage I will create your portrait in the size and style chosen. You will be kept updated on the progress of the portrait from start to finish.
The Final Stage: I offer professional custom framing of artwork for your convenience. I work with my local framer to create a complimentary look with both the artwork and your decor.
You may also choose to have extra prints of your artwork to give to family and friends. All prints are made in a print lab, gicl’ee fine spray inkjet on 100% cotton rag paper.
Once the portrait is perfect you will receive it.
Prices for pastel drawings start at $300.00. Contact me for more details.

The most important aspect of a portrait is the quality of photo chosen!
Photos need to be very detailed, well lit, sharp and high resolution.
Below are some tips on how to achieve a suitable photo for a pet portrait. Otherwise I provide professional photography as a service also.
If you require photographs taken I can provide this service free of charge if you are local. >25km’s from Wonga Park incurs a fee of $50.00.
TAKE PHOTOS ON A DIGITAL CAMERA AND SEND THE FULL SIZE IMAGE.
GET ON YOUR PETS LEVEL AND FILL THE FRAME
TAKE PHOTOS OUTSIDE USING NATURAL LIGHT
– Don’t take photos in doors with on camera flash, it reflects off the eyes and creates un natural lighting on the face.
THE BEST IMAGE FOR ME TO WORK OFF IS A HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGE, TAKEN OUTDOORS IN THE SHADE WITH NATURAL LIGHT ON YOUR PETS LEVEL.
The right frame can create greater emphasis on the piece, creating a border. Portraits without frames can make the viewer distracted to what ever is around the portrait. Framing is a great way to preserve a piece.
Frames vary in price from style and size. Quality framing isn't cheap, but is worth it. Cheap frames are of poor quality, can split, warp or break and may not protect the piece. You cant go wrong with high quality custom frames. I highly recommend that if you are choosing to frame the piece yourself to go and see a professional framer before settling for a cheap quality alternative.
After all it is a memory that you want to last, so preserving it in a high quality frame is a worthwhile investment
Pastel drawings are framed including glass, acid free mats, and fully sealed to preserve life.
Oil paintings are typically framed with no glass and a frame with or without an insert.
All portraits are scanned in high resolution, so that large sized prints can be produced. I keep a log of all portraits, so that if you decide later you would like me to have prints done, just let me know.
All prints are on quality 100% archival cotton rag paper or canvas.
If you would like extra copies of your portrait for yourself or friends, they are an inexpensive way of having it.
Prints are created by a fine print lab.
Prints can also be framed, so do not hesitate to have them done if you are having your portrait framed by my local framer.
